In collaboration with PlantDNAhits.com, a molecular music company specializing in plant nuclear DNA-derived music, PlantGDB will offer cellular phone ring tones based on your species of interest. Simply query our Tree Ring of Life database (coming soon!*) using genus, species, and subspecies. You can then choose from a variety of popular genes, including (if available) carbonic anhydrase, cellulose synthase, cytochrome C, or one of several nuclear ribosmal rRNA genes. Within a gene, you will then be able to select N-terminus, C-terminus, or alternatively specify a span of internal sequence. All popular ring tone formats will be supported.
